My hair is naturally a dark brown. However, the color looked dead on me so I decided to change it a couple years back. Right before my freshman year of high school, I tried lemon juice which gave me blonde highlights. Before sophomore year, I went on a vacation to Florida and used lemon again. When school started up again, I had a medium brown hair color with blonde highlights. But I decided to try to lighten it some more during the year. I decided to try the Hydrogen Peroxide method. I used the 3% kind. I do not suggest trying this. I was left with hair with a orange tint and the texture was dead us the tips were fried. I spent the rest of the year trying to restore it to its health. But for this summer, I decided to lighten it up again a bit before vacation. The new method I found is the viramin C method. I tried it once before and it gave me visivle results. Now Im going to try it again (I am typing this before actually doing the method for the 2nd time so results will be posted separately).
Disclaimer: if you try this method, you may or may not get results. I did, but you may have a different hair type and get different results. I've been told this method works best with dyed hair. Mine is not dyed.
I took 10 vitamin C tablets and crushed them into a fine powder inside a plastic bag.
Empty the powder into a bowl and add enough shampoo to make it a paste. Mix well.
Slightly dampen your hair and add the mixture onto your hair evenly.
Cover in a plastic bag and let it sit for 1-2 hours.
Rinse well.
CAUTION: be gentle when applying the mixture. Avoid the scalp. It may irritate it and cause itching.
